മെയ് മാസത്തെ സാമൂഹ്യ സുരക്ഷ - ക്ഷേമ നിധി ബോര്‍ഡ് പെന്‍ഷന്‍ ഈ മാസം 25 മുതല്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്യും. ഇതിനായി 1070 കോടി രൂപ അനുവദിച്ചതായി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി അറിയിച്ചു.

2011 - 2016 കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ യുഡിഎഫ് സർക്കാരിന്‍റെ കാലത്ത് 600 രൂപയായിരുന്നു ക്ഷേമ പെൻഷൻ. ഒന്നും രണ്ടും പിണറായി സർക്കാരുകൾ ഘട്ടംഘട്ടമായി പെൻഷൻ 2000 രൂപയായി വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇതിന് 3000 ആക്കി വർധിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് യുഡിഎഫ് പ്രകടന പത്രികയിൽ വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
