Anand Hotel owner Shantha, nearby, said that digging the road without giving any warnings has affected the functioning of business establishments. Entry to shops has also become difficult after digging the road. With this, traders gathered and stopped the work.

Traders allege that digging is being done even in parts without any problem, without clearly checking where pipes have burst or where repair is needed. Traders point out that having to dig again in the same manner even after spending lakhs earlier for laying pipe and reconstructing the road shows lack of coordination among authorities.

This is the main path through which many passengers and public walk daily to Railway Station and MLA Office. Pedestrian travel has become very difficult due to digging of the road. Currently passengers are passing through the verandah of a nearby chicken shop. This also poses accident risk.

Traders demanded that the situation of repeatedly digging the road which is very useful for the public should be avoided and proper inspection and necessary warnings should be ensured before carrying out work. Locals also demand that the road should be restored as soon as possible and travel distress should be resolved.
